What should i do about my lab puppy?

i take him for 1 hour walks every day, 2 times a day. i play with him outside and my mom doesnt like him to roam freely in the house because shes afriad that he will ruin everything, so hes only alound in the living and dining room and kitchen. hes not aloud upstairs. and hes in the crate for about 6 hours total every day. i feel really bad, but idk what to do. whenever i let him out he goes crazy. hes 5 months old and completly housebroken. he knows all of his commands and he is now terrified of his crate, i literally have to pick him up and chase him all over the house in order to get him in there. what should i do?
