What are your thoughts on this quote?

Of course Christianity comes to mind at first glance but today there is an effort to replace that kind of love with tolerance which is neither love nor hate. Its just putting up with everybody which takes love and hate out of the equation if that is possible. Nobody can dictate emotional reactions to life. Christianity is not dictatorial. You don't have to be a Christian if you don't want to be. The diversity measures of recent years however, leave us little choice but to tolerate. Humanitarianism and altruism are the current expectations of society to replace religion however, there are disputes between them where it comes to questions of morality. He's basically saying there can be no love without hate. I would disagree with that totally.
